To coincide with the 10th Vilo do Conde International Short Film Festival, Unifrance is releasing its 23rd Short Cuts videocassette.
3 outstanding French short films from the past decade will be showcased in this 23rd compilation cassette.
"L’ Interview" by Xavier Giannoli, a fiction film shot in black and white, was produced in 1997 by Edouard Weil for Elizabeth Films and stars Mathieu Amalric. The film won the Special Prize at the 20th anniversary of the Clermont-Ferrand Festival in 1998, the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film in 1998, the Cesar for Best Short Film in 1999 and the CNC Quality Award.
"Sur La Plage De Belfast" by Henri-François Imbert is a 40-minute documentary produced by Libre Cours in 1996, which was awarded Best Short Film as well as winning the Audience, Press, Research and Student Jury Prizes at the Dunkirk Festival in 1996, the Grand Prix at the Brussels International Video Festival in 1996, the Gold Plaque at the Chicago Festival in 1996, the Cine-Volt Short Film Award in 1997, the Grand Prix at the Gentilly Festival in 1997 and the SCAM Television Discovery Grand Prix in 1997.
"Le Mal Du Pays" by Laurent Bachet was produced by Isabelle Grellat for Mandarin, and received the Jury Special Mention at the 2001 Lleida Festival.
