The line-up for the 10th Yokohama French Film Festival, to be held June 19 through 23 in the Japanese city, was officially announced Tuesday, May 21 at Club Unifrance.
At this event, Japanese distributors and journalists had the opportunity to meet with Thomas Langmann, the producer of "Dead Weight," Christophe Ruggia, director of "Les Diables" and Alain Benguigui, producer of "Bord de Mer," three films selected at the festival this year.
The 17 feature films and 6 shorts selected at Yokohama.
Also on Tuesday, Unifrance President Daniel Toscan du Plantier had the pleasure of receiving the team from the Korean film "Chihwaseaon" ("Stroke of Fire"), presented in official competition Saturday May 25, for a lunch at the Club. The film is to be presented in the official competition Saturday, May 25. Its director, Im Kwon-Taek, was accompanied by his two lead actors, Min-Sik Choi and Sung-Ki Ahn, as well as the film's producer and its cinematographer, Il-Sung Jung. The lunch also gave Unifrance the chance to pursue its successful collaboration with its Korean partners, including the KOFIC (Korea's film financing body, equivalent to the French CNC) and Pusan Festival representatives, a partnership that will result in the organization in June of the second Seoul French Film Festival.
