The following French films are included in the Official Selection at the 58th Cannes International Film Festival, to be held from May 11 through 22 this year:
In Competition:
- "Lemming" by Dominik Moll (opening film)
- "Caché" ("Hidden") by Michael Haneke
- "Peindre ou faire l’amour" by Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu
- "L' Enfant" ("The Child") by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Franco-Belgian co-production)
- "Kilometer Zero" by Hiner Saleem (Franco-Iraqi co-production)
Out of Competition:
- "Joyeux Noël" by Christian Carion
- "Nekam Achat Mishtey Eynay" ("Avenge But One of My Two Eyes") by Avi Mograbi (Franco-Israeli co-production)
- "Les Artistes du Théâtre Brûlé" by Rithy Panh (Franco-Cambodian co-production)
- "C’est pas tout à fait la vie dont j’avais rêvé" by Michel Piccoli
- "Cindy" by Bertrand Bonello
The Un Certain Regard selection will feature the following French films:
- "Le Filmeur" by Alain Cavalier
- "La Caisse" ("Zim and Co.") by Pierre Jolivet
- "Le Temps qui reste" by François Ozon
- "Darshan - L'Etreinte" by Jan Kounen (documentary)
- "Histoire(s) du cinéma" by Jean-Luc Godard
In addition to these titles, the short films "Bébé Requin" by Pascal-Alex Vincent and "Kitchen" by Alice Winocour will also be showcased at the festival.
