Thursday 17th and Friday 18th May will see French productions in the limelight at Cannes:
Feature Films in Competition:
On Thursday, May 17, "La Stanza del Figlio" ("The Son's Room") by Nanni Moretti and "Ni Nei Pien Chi Tien" by Tsai Ming-Liang will be screened at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, the former at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. and the latter at 4.30 p.m.
"La Stanza del Figlio" is a French coproduction (Sacher Films, Bac Film and Studio Canal) and "Ni Nei Pien Chi Tien" was produced by Arena Films.
Friday, May 18 will see François Peyron's "La Chambre des officiers" (an Arp Sélection production) competing for the Palme d'Or.
Un Certain Regard:
On Thursday, May 17, Un Certain Regard will present "Clement", the latest film by Emmanuelle Bercot (produced by Moby Dick) at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Théâtre Claude Debussy.
"Hatouna Mehuheret" ("Late Marriage") by Dover Kosashvili, coproduced by Morgan Production, will be screened on Friday, May 18, at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Théâtre Claude Debussy.
Short Films in Competition:
One of 12 short films in Official Competition, "Les Petits Oiseaux" by Fred Louf (produced by K-Star) will be screened at the at the Théâtre Claude Debussy at 11 a.m. and at the Salle Bunuel at 2.45 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.
