The additions to the program:
A reception at the Rotes Rathaus
To mark, in particular, the 25th anniversary of the Franco-German Mini-Treaty, a reception will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at the Rotes Rathaus, one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks.
This reception will provide an opportunity to celebrate 25 years of Franco-German friendship in cinema, 25 years of close cinematic and audiovisual cooperation between the two countries, in a special and convivial setting, continuing the day’s discussions.

Emerging Producers
The Franco-German Film Meetings are launching the “Emerging Producers” program, featuring two new pathways (by selection) designed for emerging producers and directors: a selection of co-production projects presented on stage with Tanja Meissner (EFM Berlinale), and speed-consulting sessions for project ideas and concepts in the very early stages of development.
Submit your project by October 23, 2026.
All the details and the application form are available here.
Perspectives from both sides: Germany and France since the last Meetings
Two industry professionals—one German, the other French—will discuss the major reforms and developments that have shaped their countries since our last Meetings. This comparative analysis will help us understand what has changed on both sides of the Rhine and what these changes mean for cooperation between our two industries.
How is a film created that blends live-action footage and generative AI?
Through a case study focused on Volkano High (Gymnasium), Sarika Hemi Lakhani, a producer at X Filme, will present this hybrid project by Bonn Park, an internationally active theater director and writer, co-produced with Chapter41. A deep dive into a new way of thinking about and making a film, at the intersection of live-action footage and generative artificial intelligence.
Bridge financing at the heart of the discussion: a fishbowl with Cofiloisirs
Dominique Malet, of Cofiloisirs, will participate in a fishbowl discussion (with the audience arranged in an oval around the speakers), designed to encourage direct and open dialogue with participants. Questions, personal experiences, and real-life examples are welcome to fuel the discussion on credit-related issues.
