Director Jafar Panahi travels with his daughter and a friend to a remote Kurdish village in search of a mysterious singer, whose extraordinary talent has remained unknown to all because of the traditions imposed by the religious authorities. What they discover is both magnificently surprising and richly allegorical: a secret to be kept hidden, yet yearning to be freed.
Presented at numerous international festivals, Hidden won the Best Documentary Award in 2020 at the Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival.
