Unifrance, partner of FIPADOC in 2023, celebrates the abundant French presence in the selections of the fifth edition, which takes place from January 20 to 28 in Biarritz.
On this occasion, Unifrance is co-organizing within the Industry Days a round table focusing on promotion and export issues, entitled "French Documentaries Shining Abroad: Key Facts on Export and International Promotion Strategies," moderated by Daniela Elstner, and which will bring together:
- Emmanuelle Jouanole - Terranoa, president of the SEDPA
- Estelle De Araujo - The Party Film Sales
- Valérie Montmartin - Little Big Story
- Anne Poiret, film director (Iraq’s Lost Generation)
- Margje de Koning - Movies that Matter Festival
Unifrance is also a partner of the Année du Documentaire and was delighted with its launch on Monday evening in the presence of the French Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak and with all the support the event receives.
This year of celebration and promotion of documentary will crown the development of new actions in favor of French documentary abroad.
Hence, in 2023, Unifrance will strengthen its support for French professionals in the year's major events, general festivals, and markets as well as in the network of specific documentary festivals and markets. Travel funding for documentary filmmakers will also be deployed to bring the voice of our creators closer to audiences at key foreign events.
In addition, Unifrance will mobilize its promotional resources to promote documentary creation in all its diversity to international audiences, first through its online event MyFrenchFilmFestival, but also through its weekly program "Short Film of the Week" and through new production of editorial content.
