The American animation festival, Animation Is Film, returns on October 21 through 23 in Los Angeles, and will present two French films.
Two French films will feature on the program: Little Nicholas - Happy as Can Be by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre and Unicorn Wars by Alberto Vázquez. Two short films will also screen: Steakhouse by Čadež Špela and Inglorious Liaisons by Violette Delvoye and Chloé Alliez. French animation will also be in the spotlight through a panel on animation production in France, followed by the screening of Petit Nicolas.
Organized by the non-profit organization French in Motion and titled All you wanted to know about producing animation in France, the panel will take place on Sunday October 23 at Japan House. It will bring together Guillaume Champavere (Emile Cohl Atelier), Baptiste Lucas (Walt Disney Television), Robert Rippberger (producer), Guillaume Kervern (French Consulate of Los Angeles), and David Jesteadt (GKIDS).
The panelists will present the specificities of French animation in terms of education, artistic approaches, production, and distribution aspects.
Unifrance will partner the cocktail reception organized by the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Sunday 23 October.
