For a year now, Unifrance has been bringing together professionals from the French audiovisual and cinema sectors, and has united to give new impetus and increased resources to the international promotion of works in all their richness and plurality. But this new common ambition also intends to preserve the specificities of the two sectors that remain today. In this respect, the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Biarritz remains an undeniable highlight for the outreach and export of French audiovisual production around the world.
The organization is looking forward to meeting French sellers and international buyers from across the globe at the world's largest market dedicated to French audiovisual programs, which will be held on the Basque coast from September 4 through 8, 2022, marking its physical return after two virtual editions.
The Rendez-vous opening night will take place at Les Halles de Biarritz on Sunday, September 4. As for the market and the video library, they will welcome participants from Monday, September 5 at the Bellevue.
As part of its consolidated strategy for international promotion, particularly with regard to audiovisual works, Unifrance wishes to encourage more active participation by artists working in this sector in markets and festivals. The latter will therefore be welcomed in Biarritz for the first time in 2022, in order to encourage close exchanges with the foreign professionals present.
A gala evening will allow accredited guests to discover The King's Favorite (photo), the new historical series directed by Josée Dayan and sold by France tv distribution, which portrays France's most famous courtesan of the Renaissance. Josée Dayan and the artistic team of the series will come to meet buyers from all over the world.
The teams of the fiction series Pacific Criminal (Film & Picture), The Wonders of Europe (a docu-fiction series, STUDIOCANAL), and major programs about nature and wildlife (documentaries, ARTE Distribution) will also be present during lunches or dinners organized at the Casino Municipal in Biarritz.
On Monday, September 5, at the Casino Municipal's theater, the CNC and Unifrance will present the results of the 2021 French audiovisual exports study, which they conducted jointly
