Unifrance is delighted with the interest generated by the call for applications directed at its member producers to form a UniFrance delegation to the Sheffield Doc/Fest which will be held online this year from June 4 to 13. Due to the large number of applications received, the delegation has been enlarged to 18 companies that will be able to present their projects to foreign professionals at the Festival's MeetMarket.
Following the initial conclusions of the "Documentary" working group set up a few months ago in collaboration with fifteen members from across the board, the support provided to these projects, with their varied formats, durations, and stages of development, reflects UniFrance's desire to respond in a more transversal manner to the international support needs of its members who produce feature films, shorts, and immersive works, complementary to UniFrance's work with exporters.
This is an unprecedented undertaking to assist the promotion of documentary projects at an early stage, with the aim of increasing their visibility and giving them access to coproduction, financing, and distribution opportunities within a key professional market such as Sheffield, which is recognized as essential for documentaries today (the presence of American channels, platforms, broadcasters and distributors, financing funds, international festivals, etc.).
The UniFrance delegation at the Sheffield Doc Fest consists of the following producers:
- Andaman Films (Philippe de Bourbon)
- Almano Films (Pierre Filmon)
- Box Fish Productions (Eve Brémond)
- Composite Films (Samuel François-Steininger)
- Eivissa Productions (Anouk Tertrais)
- Ex Nihilo (Marie Balducchi)
- Haut et Court (Emma Lepers)
- La Belle Affaire Productions (Jérôme Blesson)
- Les Alchimistes (Loïs Rocque)
- Les Films du Poisson (Estelle Fialon)
- Maneki Films (Didar Domehri)
- Providences (Emanuela Righi)
- Société Acéphale (Lorenzo Bianchi)
- the cup of tea (Christophe Audeguis)
- To Be Continued (TBC) (Lionel Guedj)
- TS Productions (Delphine Morel)
- Vygo Productions (Yann Le Prado)
- Wombat Films (Quentin Daniel)
While waiting to repeat this type of initiative for other festivals in the future, UniFrance would like to thank all the candidates for the motivation they have shown in this first undertaking!
