An event organized by the Centre Cinématographique Marocain (CCM), the Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival aims to foster exchanges between filmmakers and industry professionals on both sides of the Mediterranean.
At the upcoming 17th Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival (held from September 30 through October 5), around sixty short films from twenty-two countries will be included in the Official Competition. Among these films are fourteen French titles, including five coproductions with Albania, Algeria, Lebanon, Croatia, Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia, and Turkey.
France's presence at the event will be enhanced by the presentation during the festival's opening ceremony held on September 30 at the Roxy Theater of three short films by the talented director Faouzi Bensaïdi: La Falaise (1997), The Wall (2000), and Trajets (2000). In addition, a special program scheduled on October 2 will feature the five films included in the 2019 Talents Cannes Adami selection.
To coincide with the festival and following the theme of its eclectic program, two professional meetings will also be organized:
- "Writing for Short Films: Between Transposing and Scriptwriting" (October 3)
- "Short Films: From Promotion to Distribution" (October 5)
