REGARD - Festival International du court-métrage au Saguenay, whose 23rd edtion will take place from March 13 through 17, 2019, is recognized as the most important North American film festival exclusively dedicated to the short format. UniFrance will be present for a short film program celebrating its 70th anniversary.
Established in 1995 and increasingly successful ever since, the event presents nearly 200 national and international films each year.
Each edition of REGARD brings together hundreds of directors, producers, national and international buyers, distributors, journalists, screenwriters, etc. who come to Saguenay to present their works to the public and to participate in Short Film Market activities (workshops, round tables, master-classes, video library, etc.), the only event of its kind in Quebec. During its 22nd edition, REGARD attracted nearly 40,000 visitors across all its activities.
The French selection of the 23rd edition includes 11 films, all of which drawn attention at other festivals but which have not been shown in Quebec. Alongside them, UniFrance will present the program of the 70th anniversary devised for the Fête du Court Métrage, and will participate, in collaboration with Sodec, in organizing two networking breakfasts on March 14 and 15.
