The 16th edition of the Franco-German Film Meetings will be held this year in Erfurt, capital of the German state of Thuringia.
Since 2003, Unifrance, German Films, and the Franco-German Film Academy have organized the Franco-German Film Meetings every year in partnership with the CNC and the FFA. This year's event will bring together around 250 professionals from the two countries in the German city of Erfurt, from November 26 to 28. Marie Masmonteil (Elzévir Films), president of the Franco-German Film Academy since 2016, will officially open this year's Meetings.
With the focus placed on discussing issues of shared concern, and the exchange of experiences and practices, this year's Franco-German Film Meetings will tackle numerous subjects, including Europe's capacity to bring about the creation of a global-scale SVOD platform, animated film production in France and Germany, international co-productions, the single digital market in Europe, questions of chronology relating to the French media, and connections that exist, and can be developed, between movies and TV series.
As is the case each year, a Co-Production Market will be held, aimed at French and German producers who are looking for potential co-producers and financial partners. A total of twenty projects will be selected and presented at the market (ten projects initiated by French producers and ten initiated by German producers).
