The French director received the Pardo d'onore Manor lifetime achievement award at the 71st Locarno Film Festival, where he presented the world premiere of his new series Coincoin and the Extra Humans
August 4 was a very special night in Locarno's mythical Piazza Grande, where Bruno Dumont received the Pardo d'onore for his entire body of work, before presenting, for the first time in the festival's history, a television series, Coincoin and the Extra Humans, the sequel to Li'l Quinquin. After its world premiere in Locarno and before its broadcast on French television on September 20, the series will travel to the San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF). Outgoing Locarno Festival head Carlo Chatrian had wanted this event for his final edition, before taking up the director position at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2020.
