UniFrance will be pressent at the second edition of the short film market organized alongside the Torino Film Festival.
From November 29 through December 1, the Piedmont capital welcomes the Torino Short Film Market. Organized alongside the Torino Film Festival (24/11 – 02/12), this young market dedicated to the short film format will be holding its second edition and displays extraordinarily good health.
Alongside the traditional Italian buyers Mediaset and Rai Cinema Channel, many international television channels/buyers will be attending: Argentineans from Turner Internacional Argentina, Japanese from Pacific Voices, Belgians from VRT, Spanish from TV3 - TV de Catalunya, Swiss from RSI, Swedish from UR TV, and Americans from Studio Universal.
Major distributors have also confirmed their presence, such as Spafax, ShortsTV, and Ouat Media, whose catalogues contain several Oscar-awarded shorts. Representatives from A-list festivals such as Tribeca, Locarno, Winterthur, and Go Short are also expected to attend.
During these three days of screenings and discussions, digital technology will be central to the exchanges taking place. In the presence of platforms (Vimeo, Filmdoo, Univerciné) and the heads of transmedia events (Cross Video Days, Bilbao Digital Fest), no less than four round tables and workshops will be devoted to what is at stake for the world of cinema with the digital transition.
Apart from the historic channels Canal+ and France 3, France will be especially well represented. Many distribution firms (Miyu Distribution, Manifest, TWR - The Wild Room), producers (Small Bang , the GREC), and international sales agents (Wide) will travel to the market with the support of UniFrance.
Diversion Cinema will oversee VR presentations, in particular French immersive works:
- Sergent James by Alexandre Perez
- Lifeline by Victor Michelot
- Proxima by Mathieu Pradat
- Fugue VR by Michel Reilhac
Last but not least, the three films awarded at Cannes during the first UniFrance Short Film Awards will be given a special screening.
