Day 3 of the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in New York, perhaps one of the most action-packed of the festival. It started with a Brunch for French actors and directors and American press representatives, as well as master classes led by the composer Martin Wheeler at NYU, by François Ozon at Columbia University, by Rebecca Zlotowski at the New York Media Center, and by Katell Quillévéré at the Sarah Lawrence College. Then followed a debate at Lincoln Center that examined filmmaking from a political perspective, with Bertrand Bonello at the core of the subject with his highly-anticipated film Nocturama (whose screening has been sold out for weeks).
At the same time, three films were presented at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater: From the Land of the Moon and Planetarium by their directors, and The Together Project by the composer of its score, Martin Wheeler.
It's very chilly in New York right now, so heading into a movie theater might just warm up people's hearts and bodies!
