UniFrance presents the French Cinema Award to the makers of The Little Prince

On January 15, Unifrance announced the results for French films in international theaters in 2015 at a press conference held at the French Foreign Ministry in the presence of Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development.

The results revealed at this press conference included box office revenues, key statistics, and details on the performance of French films around the world, providing an opportunity to review the success of French cinema in numerous international markets in 2015 and to highlight new developments in the distribution of attendance figures across the various geographic zones.

Also at this press conference, the brand new French Cinema Award, which has been created thanks to support from the Cristallerie Saint-Louis,* was presented to the producers Aton Soumache and Dimitri Rassam (On Entertainment) in recognition of the exceptional performance of the animated film The Little Prince in numerous markets across the globe in 2015.

By creating this new award, Unifrance wishes to regularly honor leading figures in the movie industry who have contributed to raising the profile of French cinema around the world.

After Dimitri Rassam and Aton Soumache, another French Cinema Award will be presented in the spring of 2016 to La Pekang, president of China Films, followed by a third award honoring a key personality in the Italian movie industry to be presented in April during the Rendez-vous – Nuovo cinema franceseRendez-vous – Nuovo cinema francese.
