The 11th edition of the French Film Festival of Helvetia, which takes place in Bienne, Switzerland from September 16 through 20, will offer new French films in premiere screenings.
An important festival and a crossroads for the French-speaking world for eleven years, the French Film Festival of Helvetia will propose sixty French and French-language films during its eleventh edition.
The program is split up into several sections, including Grandes Premières, featuring such highly awaited films as Marguerite by Xavier Giannoli, Macadam Stories by Samuel Benchetrit, or Un début prometteur by Emma Luchini; Horizon, which allows audiences to discover productions with a tie to France, such as the latest film by Naomi Kawase; Découvertes (with short films in Competition) will offer Learn by Heart by Mathieu Vadepied, Much Loved by Nabil Ayouch, and Dheepan by Jacques Audiard.
Don't Tell Me the Boy Was Mad has been selected as the festival's gala film, and Jean-Pierre Améris is invited to participate in the Rencontre, an encounter between an artist or artists and the public from the Rex movie theater stage.
Young spectators will have the opportunity of discovering, at a premiere screening, Phantom Boy, the animated feature by Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol.
