MyFrenchFilmFestival 2015: The AEFE Critics' Prize for high school students

A partner of the 5th, the "Agence Pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger" (AEFE - Agency for French Education Abroad) has joined forces with UniFrance Films to promote the festival at French-language teaching institutions located in foreign countries and to raise school children's awareness of French language and culture through the study of film.

What is the AEFE?
The Agency for French education abroad is a government institution supervised by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Founded in 1990, it is responsible for monitoring and managing the network of French schools abroad. The AEFE ensures the continuity of French government education for children living abroad with their families, broadens the influence of French language and culture by taking in foreign students, and takes part in educational cooperation by nurturing special relations with the culture, language and educational system in the host country.

The AEFE Critics' Prize
Created as part of the festival, the AEFE Critics' Prize takes the form of an open competition for high school students at schools in France and abroad that are part of the AEFE network.

How to participate?
To take part in this competition and try your luck at winning an accreditation for two people at one of the film festivals organized by UniFrance Films, it couldn't be simpler! All you have to do is write a review in French (1.800 signs maximum, spaces included) of one of the films selected at this year's festival (a short film or feature film) and to post it on the festival's website as a comment in the file attached to the film you wish to review, with the hashtag #AEFE (see an example of a file here).

The two reviews (one for a short film and one for a feature) that attract the largest number of votes will be declared winners of the prize. The two prizewinners will each win an accreditation for two people at one of the film festivals that UniFrance Films organizes during the year!

Important dates:

January 16 - Februray 16, 2015 : MyFrenchFilmFestival
January 19 - March 13, 2015 : reviews' posting and voting
March 14 : votes closure at 10 am (UTC+01:00)
March 16 : announcement of the results

We wish you all good luck!
