French films at the 15th Mumbai Film Festival

French cinema will be out in force at the upcoming Mumbai International Film Festival, India's leading movie industry event.

French films and filmmakers will be in the spotlight at the 15th Mumbai Film Festival, which will take place in India from October 17 through 24, 2013. 29 French films will be showcased at the event, with five French artists in attendance to present their films.

UniFrance Films will be working closely with the French delegation, which this year includes the following artists:

Costa Gavras, director, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the opening ceremony on October 17, with six of his films programmed in a retrospective celebrating this special tribute.

Nathalie Baye, actress, will be a member of the 2013 International Jury, led by the Australian director Bruce Beresford.

Leos Carax, director, will lead a master-class and will present three of his films.

Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, director, will present Grigris.

Guillaume Brac, director, will present Tonnerre in the International Competition.

With a packed program of over 200 films from 65 countries, this year's festival includes 29 French films: 1 film in competition, 10 films in the Focus France section (the 6th Rendez-vous with French Cinema, a non-competitive section organized in partnership with UniFrance Films), and 18 films spread between the other festival sections.
