Synopsis
The ill-fated romance of a brow-beaten seaport slum café waitress and a young man with a possessive mother, who dreams of going to sea. They make plans to elope but everything goes awry. The boy returns to his mother and the girl stays on in the café. Only the retarded old man who introduces them sets off to sea, only to drown.
