Dark at Noon

A Feature film by Raoul Ruiz

Produced by Sideral Productions

Release in France : 20/01/1993

The end of the First World War. Félicien is a medical research scientist in Paris. His field : cases of unexplicable recovery, possible miracles. On his father's death, he discovers that the family fortune has been invested in Portugal. More precisely, in the region of Alentejo. He decides to go there. That's when he has his first surprise : the money has been poured into a strange factory making crutches for war victims, thought up by a lunatic. He then discovers that the village and its inhabitants are subjected daily to the influence of supernatural powers : appearances of the Madonna, strange objects falling from the skies... They sleep all day and live by night. Mystery is present everywhere, hand in hand with the unusual. The atmospere is distinctly odd. Dogs are worshipped and the indefinable reigns supreme.
