The Nefertiti Case
Synopsis
Andrea, deputy director of the French Museums Directorate, is preparing in Paris the exhibition of the century: a groundbreaking dialogue between contemporary artworks and the bust of Nefertiti, a multi-millennia-old treasure exceptionally loaned by Berlin. But during the uncrating of the sculpture, disaster strikes : the masterpiece falls and shatters on the ground. The team is devastated: the bust is an irreplaceable piece, loaned by Germany and claimed by Egypt for decades. Andrea’s superior is unequivocal: he expects her resignation on his desk. Cornered, she proposes a desperate and highly risky solution : to call upon the Gorgon, a brilliant forger who vanished from the scene years ago. Recently released from prison for forgery, the Gorgon now lives in Rome and is the only person known to have a perfect replica of the bust. If Andrea can find her in time, the exhibition might still open while the original is restored. But there’s a cost: to Andrea, the Gorgon is above all Alba : her younger sister, with whom she cut all ties years ago.
