Winter Roses
Synopsis
Jean, 80, suffering from an incurable disease, has decided to stop treatment and end his life. Accompanied by his wife Madeleine, he announces this to his children, who are shocked to hear of his decision. Elsa, Thomas and Julien, their children, each react very differently, highlighting their personalities, their fragilities, the relationships they have with each other and with their parents. Elsa, a divorced mother of two, is devastated, while Thomas, the eldest, remains seemingly unmoved and the youngest, Julien, who is overprotected, seems to understand the decision. By chance, Elsa discovers that her mother, determined not to be alone, is also secretly preparing for her “great departure”. Paradoxically, it is life itself that will have the last word, giving everyone the strength to face, when the time comes, this separation for eternity...
