Synopsis
A man and a woman walk through the countryside. Caught in a storm, they take shelter. While waiting for it to pass, they talk about the tale of Madame de la Carlière and the chevalier Desroches… Based on a story by Diderot, the film moves back and forth between narration and identification, humor and passion, mundane naturalness and the most excessively melodramatic posturing of the 18th century
