Synopsis
Alyscamps is a famous Roman necropolis outside Arles, a medieval French city. We visit the remains and contemplate the functions of sepulchres in Christian culture, comparing Alyscamps to the more recent municipal cemetery in Arles, and the medieval cemetery at Montmajour.
