Synopsis
Batou is a small Mongolian boy. One day, he receives a bow as a birthday gift. To follow in his father's footsteps and become a hunter, he heads to the forest to train at shooting. When he aims at a tree trunk, Batou finds himself face to face with a little deer, hidden amongst the leaves. He decides to try to hunt the animal, but, with it in his sights, he hesitates and then gives up when his conscience gets the better of him. He returns home and transforms his weapon into a musical instrument. Once back in the forest, he plays his new tool, charming the deer, which approaches him.
