The Wrestler
Synopsis
At the end of the 1980s, Randy Robinson, known as “The Ram”, was a star of the wrestling circuit. Twenty years later, he now only performs in school gyms or local houses. He has fallen out with his daughter and is incapable of maintaining a durable relationship with anybody: he only lives for the pleasure of the show and the love of his fans. But when he is struck down by a heart attack right in the middle of a match, his doctor orders him to give up wrestling: another fight could be fatal. Obliged to forget the ring and settle down, he tries to renew ties with his daughter and, at the same time, begins a relationship with an ageing striptease performer. However, his love of the show and his passion for wrestling well and truly risk regaining the upper hand and propelling him once again into the ring.
