Waltz with Bachir
Synopsis
Ari, an Israeli film director, has a meeting late at night in a bar with friend suffering from recurrent nightmares in which he systematically finds himself chased by a pack of 26 dogs. 26, exactly the number of dogs that he had to kill during the Lebanese War at the beginning of the 1980s.
The following day, for the first time, Ari recalls a memory of this period of his life. A silent, nagging image: himself as a young soldier, bathing in the sea in front of Beirut with two army friends. He suddenly feels the vital need to discover the truth behind this fraction of history and himself and, in order to do this, decides to set out across the world to find a few of his former companions in arms.
The more Ari delves into the depths of his memory, the more forgotten images rise to the surface.
