A poet is at his writing desk when a coachman knocks at his window and invites the poet to follow him. Through the glassed door of the caleche memories flow by. It is time for the poet to write his last verses. La Vita nuova is a filmic palimpsest, directly inspired by Gérard de Nerval's works.
