On one side, the desert that gnaws at the earth, the dry season with no end, the lack of water.
On the other, the threat of war.
The village well runs dry. The cattle die. Most of the village inhabitants, following their instincts, head south. Rahne, the only literate person among them, decides to head east with Mouna, his wife, and their three children. Their only possessions: A few sheep, some goats, and Charnelle, their camel.
This is a story of an exodus, a search; a story about hope and fate.
