About
"Hanging Offense" is for Josiane Balasko.
The screenplay was written specifically for the actress and offers her a role that it is light-years away from those she usually plays. The film, with its suspense, ambiguous characters, tense atmosphere and Machiavellian intrigue, has a Hitchcockian tone to it. It takes place near Fontainebleau, on the outskirts of Paris, and retraces the story of a police captain who has to deal with a horrible murder case that starts out with an unexplained suicide and becomes a veritable epidemic.
