Emilio, a young out-of-work engineer, arrives at the bus station in a Cuban village. Dozens of people are waiting for a bus, or better yet, for the station manager to finish repairing the company bus that he started working on two days earlier. Jacqueline takes her place in the line, much to Emilio’s delight. A bus finally turns up, but there’s only room for one person. Tension mounts, developing into an argument about how to devise a fair way for one lucky person to get the seat. Should it go to the old lady at the head of the line or to the blind person who burst into the station? The crowd’s feelings of resignation and anger are palpable. Emilio, undaunted, suggests an alternative: if everyone pitches in, as a team, they could fix the bus themselves. A group comes together, and within it each person has a place, an identity, serves a purpose. Together they can deal with frustrations and share their dreams…

About
You really think my film has a political angle? Well, what does any art do, if not try to change things? Here we tried to get people to think about issues dealing with reality and humanity. I attempted to show the way people function, based on Cuba’s reality.
