Synopsis
A multi-faceted portrait of Casablanca drawn from the intersecting paths of three inhabitants: a bookseller thrown into agonies of self-doubt by the arrival of an unexpected letter, a young schoolmistress whose application for a passport sparks off an administrative goose chase, and a schoolboy who becomes the tragic victim of a set-up due to a misunderstanding with his Islamic fundamentalist schoolteacher. The ups and downs of these three lives paint a complex and ambiguous portrait of one of North Africa's great cities at the turn of the millennium.

About
"I don't make movies to combat ideas. That's not my main aim. I tell a story and try, above all, to record my environment. I live in this environment and I realize that it is becoming more and more polluted. It's fair to say that every person needs a certain quality of life, and that's the sphere that I work in. I feel the need to stand up for freedom of speech, tolerance, acknowledgment and respect for other people."
(Abdelkader Lagtaâ, Director)
