About
Dakan is a film about the love between two young men, in which I tried to show that, beyond our differences, universal values such as love unite us. Gay or not, who would mess around with someone else's butt if it wasn't for love! We all talk about love, we all want to be loved. Yet so many of us, despite our own longing for love, condemn men who love each other, who dare to express their true feelings. We forget that specifically human sentiment, love, whenever we ourselves are not involved – the societies we have created are pitiless. They decide what we must be, not us. That's why they have a problem with homosexuality: they forget it's love. In this film, I tried to show these contradictions and see who they profited. And also to say that that there will always be love no matter what barriers society erects. For me, the film was a way of paying tribute to all those who love each other and express it as they wish. It's such a wonderful thing to love and be loved!
