Synopsis
Carolyn de Sayn is married at the age of sixteen against her will, to the Prince of Wittgenstein who is much older than she. Some years later, at Kiev, she meets Frantz Liszt who is already famous throughout the world. Profiting from the absence of her absence of her husband, the young wife invites the musician to her property at Woronince. When Frantz confesses his love for her, she ceases the long fight she had waged against her true feelings. The unexpected return of her husband causes a brutal and sudden separation of the lovers. Carolyn has decided the Vatican to annul her marriage. But the Prince will not have it. He succeeds in making the Vatican reject the application for the annulment which it was going to grant Carolyn...
