Event presentation
Motivated by a desire to offer Hong Kong audiences the chance to experience the diversity of contemporary French cinema, the Alliance Française has been hosting the Hong Kong French Film Festival (French Cinepanorama) for more than fifty years. This event is the longest-standing film festival in Hong Kong.
Thanks to the high quality and originality of its program, the Hong Kong French Film Festival, known as the French Cinepanorama, has stamped itself as a key annual event for film enthusiasts. Every year in November-December, the festival presents around forty recent French films, many of which have won awards at international film festivals.
With a program including dramas, documentaries, animated films, restored cinema classics, acclaimed short films, and an ambitious lineup of debut films by up-and-coming directors, this festival guarantees audiences a representative selection of the diversity and range of current French cinema.
Every year, the festival invites a sizeable guest list including established names and rising stars of French cinema.
