Synopsis

In a big upper-class manor house with dark and disturbing hidden recesses, a countess whose husband is away on a journey, prepares her children, in the North Room, to do a small concert in anticipation of his return. She puts Martin, aged eight, on the double bass, and Juliette, aged twelve, on the violin. Juliette struggles and becomes fascinated by the portrait of a girl in a big oval painting.
