Felix is a prompter. Like a lighthouse keeper, from his seat in the pit in front of the stage, he reassures and encourages those who strut the boards. Philippe is his only contact with reality. Actor and childhood friend, it’s Philippe who comes to Felix’s aid when the theater management gets rid of him, having decided that the role of prompter belongs to a bygone era. Convalescing in a world not made for him, Felix continues to play the part of prompter from the wings in other people’s lives. He offers everyone, and in particular Philippe, his words, flights of imagination and humor.
All would be ideal if it weren’t for the unexpected arrival of Clara in the two friends’ lives. Both put everything at stake trying to capture her heart. Philippe with his good looks or Felix with his pretty words – which of the two will know how to summon the love about which Clara dreams so much?
