A fine start to 2004 coupled with the film's results in Germany have confirmed the success of the documentary by Nicolas Philibert in the international arena.
"To Be and to Have" has thus recently reached a running total of 1,125,000 spectators, registered in 17 countries of release. This represents around €6.7 million in box office receipts.
The countries where the film has proved most successful are Germany (around 255,000 admissions), the Netherlands (a great triumph for independent distributor Contact Film, with 143,000 admissions), Great Britain (128,000 admissions) and the United States (estimated at around 120,000 admissions).
