Bertrand Tavernier in Australia
Bertrand Tavernier will be in Australia from November 26 through December 3 to take part in the "On Set with French Cinema" program.
Five universities in Sydney and Perth (the NFSA, AFTRS, University of Sydney, FTI, and the University of Western Australia in Perth) will welcome the French director, who will lead master classes for film students.
Bertrand Tavernier will also take part in public screenings of La Vie et rien d’autre (Life and Nothing But) at the NFSA (National Film and Sound Archive) in Canberra (where a lecture will be held with David Stratton, former director of the Sydney Film Festival and film critic for Variety magazine and currently film critic for The Australian daily newspaper) as well as a screening of Holy Lola at the Chauvel Cinema of Capitaine Conan (Captain Conan) at the AFTRS (Australian, Film, Television and Radio School) in Sydney, and a screening of Laissez-passez (Safe Conduct) at the Cinema Paradiso in Perth.
This will mark the first time that Australian universities play host to the “On Set with French Cinema” initiative.
