Unifrance, France’s international film promotion agency, has renewed its organizational structure. At a meeting held July 7, the association’s Board of Directors unanimously re-elected outgoing President Margaret Menegoz.
At the meeting, Ms. Menegoz outlined the main objectives of her new term: to maintain close contacts with foreign distributors so as to secure and improve French film’s market share around the world, to continue to develop new markets (such as China and India), and to pursue Unifrance’s work in countries with strategic importance for French films (Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA, and Japan in particular). Ms. Menegoz reminded those present of the collective nature of Unifrance and its activities, and the necessity for producers, artists, and exporters to strengthen their involvement in the policies of the association.
Margaret Menegoz will be backed up by three new Vice-Presidents: the producer Marie Masmonteil (Elzevir Films), the director Tonie Marshall, and the exporter François Yon (Films Distribution).
And finally, a reminder that since our General Assembly held June 19 and the Producers’ Commission held June 26, Unifrance counts 84 elected representatives who are members of the association’s four Committees:
- The Feature Film Producers’ Committee, composed of 32 members, now presided by Marie Masmonteil (deputy: Eric Névé);
- The Artistic Committee (20 members), presided by Tonie Marshall (deputy: Jean-Paul Salomé);
- The Exporters’ Committee (20 members), presided by François Yon (deputy: Loïc Trocmé);
- The Short Film Commission (12 members), presided by Olivier Berlemont (deputy: Jean-Christophe Soulageon).
