The opening ceremony of the 6th Acapulco Franco-Mexican Film Festival was held Tuesday evening, November 27. Audiences turned out in droves to welcome the official French and Mexican delegations invited to the event.
Master of Ceremonies, Antoine Saint-Michel kicked off by introducing the official guests at the festival. One after the other, Daniel Toscan du Plantier (President of Unifrance), Sari Bermudez (Mexican Culture Minister), Philippe Fauré (French Ambassador), Alfredo Joskowicz (CEO of Imcine), David Kessler (President of the CNC) and the representative of René Juarez Cisneros, (Governor of Guerrero) wished the festival lasting success, each highlighting the important role of such an event in fostering culturally diversified creative work and stimulating movie industry activity in the plural sense. Daniel Toscan du Plantier went on to present the French and Mexican artistic delegations, with actors and directors coming together on stage to warm applause from the public. The ceremony closed with a screening of "Conte de fées pour endormir les crocodiles," in the presence of its director Ignacio Ortiz, producer Juan Carlos Prieto and cast members Luisa Huertas and Ana Graham.
