After 12 weeks on the screens, "Chorists" by Christophe Barratier (released as "Los Chicos del Coro" in Spain), has attracted over 1 million spectators.
As was the case in France, "Chorists" (also known as "The Chorus"), released by Alta Classics in December 2004, shows a remarkable stability in attendance figures and is still holding its ground in the top 10 weekly admissions scores, with 120 prints in circulation. Its performance in Spain is its best to date outside France, with the film currently showing in some 15 countries. We can thus wager that its results, along with those of "A Very Long Engagement" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, released January 28 by Warner Sogefilms and currently cruising on 240,000 spectators, will give a new burst of energy to the Spanish market, which has shown a somewhat diminished appetite for French fare in recent months.
