The 46th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival takes place from February 2 to 10. This eagerly-awaited event, unique in its field, increases in popularity each year. It brings together filmmakers and professionals from the four corners of the globe for a cinematic form that proves that the short film is undoubtedly "the childhood of the Seventh Art," that special, rich and promising place in the world of cinema where tomorrow's talents are born and revealed.
No fewer than 154 French films, or films co-produced with France, will be screened in most of the festival's sections. Among them:
- 51 in National Competition
- 6 in International Competition
- 6 in Lab Competition
- 4 works in VR Competition: a first in the festival's history!
- 25 in the Young Audience section
All the French titles presented at this 46th edition can be found here.
As always, the National, International and Lab Competitions will be accompanied by a thematic retrospective and focus sessions on a geographical area. After the Libido retrospective and Taiwanese programs in 2023, this year's festival will focus on European women, in front of and behind the camera: Eur♀ Visions: European Women in the Camera and Rebels: Portraits of Indomitable Women. Hence it's not one country but an entire continent that will be showcasing strong female figures.
