As in previous years, seven French feature films will set off for Mexico from September 21, before continuing their journey across the South American continent in October, via the highly popular Tour de Cine Francés, now in its 27th year.
Co-organized by Nueva Era Films, a Mexican company distributing French films, the Cinépolis exhibition chain, the country's network of Alliances Françaises, and the Ambassade de France in Mexico, the Tour de Cine Francés attracted an average pre-Covid attendance of 300,000 each year - the absolute record remaining the 420,000 admissions recorded in 2018. During the pandemic, the Tour maintained its presence against all the odds, attracting almost 180,000 followers in 2022, and remaining the most important French film festival in the world.
In addition to 73 cities in Mexico, this year's selection will once again visit Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama, and will also tour Argentina and Chile.
Several artists will support the Tour by taking part in a virtual press-junket organized at Unifrance on the eve of its launch.
