UniFrance's teams accompany Internet users from all over the world and launch a special edition of MyFrenchFilmFestival, based on a distribution model restricted to three platforms.
In order to accompany Internet users around the world during the current health and lockdown crisis being experienced by so many, the MyFrenchFilmFestival teams are launching a special edition of the festival: the STAY HOME Edition.
Capitalizing on a rich catalogue of short films consolidated over the last ten years, and with the renewed agreement of the rights holders in this special context, the STAY HOME Edition allows viewers to discover or rediscover the best that French short films have to offer from the past ten editions of MyFrenchFilmFestival, as well as a selection of films for younger audiences in partnership with Institut Français.
In total, more than 70 French-language films, subtitled in more than 10 languages, are offered free to view worldwide until April 27, 2020. The selection is divided into six strands in order to guide the choice of festivalgoers: Family Affair, Love and Feelings, Portraits of Women, Teen Spirit, What’s Going On, as well as Kids Corner, a selection of films without dialogue aimed at younger audiences.
In order to quickly launch this unprecedented operation, and within the framework of the agreements concluded with the rights holders, the broadcasting of these short films is limited to the MyFrenchFilmFestival.com platform, as well as the Festival's Facebook and YouTube pages. With the goal of satisfying the demands of Internet users in lockdown, while maintaining a continuous link with them, the whole selection is already available on the Festival's official website, while new films will be posted several times a day on its Facebook and YouTube pages. A worldwide advertising campaign is in place on Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube networks, highlighting in particular the official teaser produced for this special edition.
While impatiently waiting for movie theaters to reopen, long live online cinema!
