The 22nd Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris hosted by UniFrance will take place from January 16 through 20, 2020. This major international media event is of key economic importance for enhancing the visibility of French cinema abroad.
Since it was first held in 1999, the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris organized each year in Paris has enabled exporters of French films and French actors and directors to meet with distributors and journalists from all around the world. In January 2019, 600 people took part in the event, which for many participants provided the groundwork for the release of French productions in international markets throughout the year to come.
For the upcoming 2020 edition of the Rendez-Vous event, UniFrance will be holding a special day on January 16 dedicated to the theme of exports featuring roundtable discussions, during which a report on the statistics for French films abroad in 2019 will be presented.
In advance of the event, UniFrance has joined forces with TV France International to organize the first edition of a new event, the Rendez-Vous On Demand, to be held on January 15. This initiative will bring together international buyers from film and television VOD service providers and sales agents representing French audiovisual programs.
