A gala screening was held yesterday evening at the Minato Mirai Hall of the latest film by Claude Lelouch, who was accompanied on stage by Keiko Kishi, the acclaimed Japanese actress who is a fluent French-speaker and was one of the key people behind the creation of the French Film Festival in Japan in 1993. During the discussions that followed the screening, when asked why he wanted to revisit the characters from A Man and a Woman fifty-three years later, Claude Lelouch replied:
"The last words in a person's life are the most important: we finally know what we're talking about!"
