A pause in the usual schedule at the School of Visual Arts, located in Gramercy Park, where Laurent Cantet was invited to supervise a workshop with young trainee directors. An hour and a half during which he would speak about his working routines with actors: opposite him, these students, some of whom are French, are surprised by the filmmaker's methods, often based on improvisation. The class would end with scenes from The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, performed by the future directors, watched over by Laurent Cantet who would try to direct him like he has done in so many choral films, from The Class to The Workshop.
